●     threaded – screwed into the neck;

●     bayonet type – screwed into the neck at a slight angle;

●     with a folding lock – their fixation in the neck is ensured by slight pressure (the principle is similar to gasoline cans).

Threaded ones are common in cars, and bayonet ones in trucks. The most modern option is plugs with a hinged lock. They function well but are unreliable, so they are less common. Depending on the pressure control system, the gas tank cover for car can be of the following types:

●     with one valve (inlet) – they balance the decrease in pressure using one valve: they increase the pressure but do not decrease it; therefore, they are installed in machines with an adsorber;

●     with two valves (inlet and outlet) – in this case, the plug can both increase and decrease the pressure, but this design is more likely to break;

●     without valves – used in cars with an adsorber and a unique system for regulating pressure.
